phoenix was at home when he got called by gumshoe to get to the crime scene
it was a locked room and the man was sitting on the table with his head on it and he drew something in blood saying "7:10" which must have been the time of death and on the other side of the room there were shards of a clockish object but what could that clockish object be?
they cross examined the witness who was in a tree at the time but he had an alibi because it wasnt actually the time so he wasnt a witness
they looked around more and noticed that the shards of the clockish object were actually a clock so they put it back together
they examined the clock and saw the time on it was wrong so they decided to do an autopsy report to see that the real time of death was 8:10
they ran back to the guy and phoenix proved he was in the tree at the time and that he killed the victim by throwing a knife in through the window hitting his head but before he died he saw the clock and wrote what he thought was the time of death, also when the knife fell it landed on a button that closed the window
he was trapped so he cofnesed to get a smaller sentence
