-Three Wrongs-
Tsuna feels tired. He wants to sit down somewhere and hold his head in his hands for a few brief moments to settle the acidic feeling pooling in his chest cavity.
The whole Shimon family had seemed so sincere. They had all been so kind. And to betray the Vongola in what seemed like mere moments, they had fooled all of them for so long. Even Gokudera and Reborn hadn't seen this happen. Gokudera had always mistrusted everyone, but he had taken such a liking to Shitt P. Reborn hadn't even warned him either. Reborn who had always seemed like he knew everything.
Tsuna feels so torn and confused, and he's lost and scared. He doesn't want to blame other people, but he feels so terrible about his choices too. It feels like his own fears about becoming a mafia boss had caused trouble for others. He hates that. His own inadequacy causing problems for those who don't deserve it makes him feel guilty and depressed. So many negative things directed towards himself makes him feel sick. So much self hate is churning in his gut.
He had liked Enma, and had taken to him like a good friend. He had thought he had finally found a kindred spirit in this cruel mafia world that understood his fears. He thinks about what would have happened if he really had run away earlier. If he had rejected the inheritance ceremony earlier would Shimon had seen him as less of a threat? Probably not, but he can't help but think about it. Maybe he missed something in the way that Enma acted. He was always so emotionless. Tsuna feels like an idiot.
The Earth flames, their power, they terrify Tsuna. He's never known about their power before. He's never faced an enemy like this. An enemy who hasn't done anything wrong by what they say. They are simply righting a wrong that the Vongola have done to them. Tsuna feels a slow burn rise up from his heart. Two wrongs don't make a right and no matter how terrible someone has been there's nothing wrong with negotiation. No one should have to be hurt like Yammamoto just for the sake of some petty revenge from 10 generations back. Two wrongs don't make a right and Tsuna is left with a strange sensation. Grim satisfaction, that's what he's feeling right now. If the Vongola were to be defeated somewhere, someone is going to extract revenge whether it is going to be the Varia or someone else. Just like what the Shimon family is doing right now.
Three wrongs will have to do. But Tsuna really hopes it doesn't get to that.
