How did I possibly end up in this situation? Sasuke thought as he entered the dance studio with Sakura in the lead.
He and Sakura had been assigned a mission.
A mission that involved a formal dinner party, dress clothes, and dancing.
Why would that crazy old hag pick them anyway? They didn't exactly get along. Ever since he came back to the village their 'friendship', if that's what you would call it, had been very unstable, and to be honest, it was just downwardly spiraling every minute.
Back in the old days whenever he gave her those one syllable answers she would swoon and coo over him until it made his ears bleed. Now? Nothing. Nothing at all. She barely even spoke to him. She would just turn her shoulder and walk away as if he was nothing but a gust of wind. She would go as far as ignoring him when he asked her a question and turn to someone else to make conversation with them.
This was irritating him to an extent where he thought never possible. But of course, him being the last surviving Uchiha he held his tongue and acted as though it didn't bother him. And of course that kind of attitude landed him here. In a dance studio with a pissed off Sakura pointedly glaring at him, acting as if it was his fault they got assigned this mission.
Did he mention that she was glaring? Glaring. At him. Sasuke Uchiha.
"What?" He snapped, not taking his eyes off the ticking clock on the wall in front of him.
"Nothing." Sakura retorted back just as icily, taking her glare off of him and turning it onto the ground below her wooden stool. Ah, yet another awkward silence. One of those awkward silences when you know the other person is mad at you but they won't admit it to your face so you're left wondering what you did wrong to make them mad…Yeah, one of those.
"Well, something must be wrong, or you wouldn't have been obnoxiously staring me down like that-"
"I said nothing was wrong so just drop it." She growled, turning herself on the stool, away from him.
"Oh, that's mature." He scoffed.
"Will you just be quiet?!" She suddenly shouted in a voice octaves above her usually nice tone. "No one wants to hear you talk right now you moronic egotistical prick!"
And for once, the Uchiha didn't know what to say.
