Mario stepped out of the Poke Mart in Hau'oli City as he glanced at the rustling green grass near him, smiling as he chucked a Pokeball in his gloved hand.
"Haho! Time for me to get a new Pokemon because I'm the star!" Mario exclaimed as he chucked the Pokeball into the grass, with it capturing the Pokemon that was running around within it.
A few seconds passed as the Pokeball let go of the Pokemon, which was a Rattata as it laughed at Mario and dashed away, making him very mad.
"No! Come back here, you lousy pocket monster!" Mario snapped as he chased after the Rattata, chucking all of his Pokeballs at it.
The Rattata just glanced back and laughed as it dodged the chucked Pokeballs, with the other wild Pokemon watching as they shook their heads at Mario, who was clearly a failure. Several of the Smashers were watching this as well, with them trying not to laugh at the pesky plumber's failure.
"Oh Mario, don't you realize that's not how you capture a Pokemon?" Lady Palutena laughed as she was enjoying this way too much, nearly falling off the bench from laughing so much.
"He's so not okay!" Ness giggled as he clapped his hands together, feeling a rumble in his stomach as he quickly scourged through the garbage can and grabbed a gross half eaten burger, munching through it.
"I feel so insulted to be a Pokemon from seeing what Mario was doing there..." Jigglypuff said as she was conflicted between her being a Pokemon but also a Smasher.
Silver the Hedgehog arrived from a portal that opened as he had several cardboard boxes of pizzas in his hands, wondering why they were watching what was happening.
"Did I miss something important?" Silver said as he rubbed the back of his quill covered head, proceeding to scream and run shortly afterwards as the wild Pokemon were attracted to him due to smelling the succulent scents of the various pizza pies contained within the boxes.
