The Devil's Carnival belongs to Zdunich and Bousman. So do the lyric bits. All I own is the bit in between.

"Hello? Is anyone there?"

The lights turned on. She was standing in the middle of the ring, dressed in a nightgown and holding up a lantern. She looked past the carnies moving the painted sea, and saw a figure in the bleachers. He had horns and wore a big coat. She knew who it was.

He got up from his place, and walked into the ring. He motioned the waves to stop, and he walked through them to her. He walked around her, as they sang a haunting song.

"The ship it swayed

Heave Ho Heave Ho

On the dark and stormy blue.

And I held tight to the captain's might

As he pulled up trews.

'You haven't slept,'

Heave Ho

He said,

'For many suns and moons.'

Oh I will sleep when we reach shore,

And pray we get there soon.

He said

'Now hush love,

Here's your gown.

There's the bed.

Lantern's down.'

But I don't want to go to sleep.

In all my dreams, I drown."

She suddenly fell onto a bed dressed in red silk sheets, and sang her own part.

"The captain howled

Heave Ho Heave Ho

And tied me up with sheets."

"A storm is brewing in the south," they sang together.

"It's time you go to sleep," he sung in her ear.

They were back in the ring, and he was walking around her on the pedestal.

"His berth it rocks,

Heave Ho Heave Ho,

The ocean gnashed and moaned.

Like Jonah will be swallowed whole,

And spat back teeth and bones."

Back on the bed, he leaned over her and stroked her cheek. His long nails somehow comforting her from her fright and dismay. She knew she shouldn't be here, and yet she couldn't leave him.

"He said 'Now hush love,

Here's your gown.

There's the bed.

Lantern's down.'

But I don't want to go to sleep,

In all my dreams I drown."

He pulled up from on top of her, and got up to leave. She sat up and pleaded with him, not to leave.

"Captain! Captain!

I will do your chores.

I will warm your cot at night,

And mop your cabin floors.

Scold me! Hold me!

I'll be yours to keep.

The only thing I beg of you:

Don't make me go to sleep."

He told her of the terrors if he let her stay, but she knew anyway.

"The sky it flashed

Heave ho Heave ho

His pillow toed to the brink.

The curtains ran between my legs

As we began to sink.

I closed my eyes

Heave ho heave ho

As the ship was rent and fell.

Eddie's in the water headed

To the mouth of hell."

He started to leave her, by the bed, and in the ring. He would not let her stay. They sung together one final time, before she faced her eternal fate.

"Hush now, hush love

Here's your gown.

There's the bed.

Lantern's down.

I'm begging you, please wake me up.

In all my dreams I…."

He left. She collapsed on the bed, leaving the Carnival far behind.

So there's the song for this...And this is basically the lyrics for the song, but I added in basically their actions. But I think I did a pretty good job on it. Please R&R kiddywinkles! :D
