Dedicated to a very good friend who generally worries too much about me, but who is an angel anyway and who always manages to cheer me up even though he's thousands of miles away. You know who you are hun. Love you and thank you.

Couldn't sleep so I decided to write a teeny-weeny one-shot. I'm a bit anxious so this is a bit anxious. Was written in like...ten minutes, maybe fifteen.

B/B of course, then again it could be any other couple.

Disclaimer; Don't own anything, just the idea for the double-double-double drabble heh.

Safety Net

She was wandering her apartment at night. Heart racing. Fast breathing. She couldn't sit still for more than two seconds because if she did she felt like she was going crazy. Her heels ticked across the hard wooden floor of her apartment as she walked from her livingroom to the kitchen and back. Tick tack tick tack. The clock on the wall ticked slowly, seconds turning into minutes. Minutes seemed hours.

What was she going to do?

Who was going to pull her though?

The questions kept on racing in her mind and as she wandered back into the kitchen she walked over to the fridge and opened it. For a couple of seconds she stood still and peered into her fridge, but then decided she'd stood still for too long and she closed it's door again, forgetting about the task that was on her mind only a few moments before. Her third glance at the clock and it was only two minutes later than before.

Just then a knock sounded on the door and she looked up, alarmed. When she reached the door in a couple of quick steps she peered through the peephole of the door and instantly a sigh of relief escaped her lips. She opened the door in a swift movement and he stepped inside, his unmistakable scent almost forcing it's way into her nose and making her feel the slightest bit light-headed.

They stared at each other for a long moment before he threw the door shut and let his arms encircle her waist, drawing her close.

She wrapped her arms around his neck and stayed there. Breathing his scent, allowing his steady heartbeat to calm her own.

That instant she knew it would be alright and that he would pull her through and just then she felt so much better.

Calm.

Safe.

He was her safety net.
