The sky was dark and it was foggy out. No one was around; everything was empty, no cars, and no people. Everything was quiet as I walked down the street; the only thing you could hear was the thunder in the distance. I stopped dead in my tracks near the high school; I saw something flash across my vision. I stuffed my hands in my pockets and kept walking towards the school. I slipped into the back door through the gym, walked through the halls and stopped at the locker that use to be mine. There were two letters still written on the locker with a heart around it. N + L. I slammed my fists against the locker and broke it. "Damn, you sure have lot strength to break that." The girl said. "Lucy?" I asked. I stood there not moving at all. "Who else?" Lucy replied. She walked up to me and I stood my ground. "I thought you were gone Luce." I whispered. "Yea, I was for a little while since my parents died." She sighed. "Lucy, I'm so sorry. I swore I'd do anything to protect you and I did. You could've died! I wasn't willing to let that happen to you! I just couldn't. Okay?" I said frustratingly. I watched her crumble to the ground slowly. I wrapped my arms around her and held her close to my chest. I could smell her blood and it was tempting, but I didn't really care. "If you want me to leave, I'll leave." I whispered. "Don't." She whispered. She leaned closer to me and buried her head into my chest. I remembered picking Lucy up and carrying her in my arms, away from the school. She passed out after awhile in my arms and I don't really know why. Maybe do to lack of sleep or something. I was getting sleepy myself and I knew we couldn't stay there any longer. When I made it outside, it was pouring and Lucy was getting soaked. I took off my sweatshirt and wrapped it around her. I was going as fast as I could with her in my arms and I was slowing down because I was so damn tired. Someone was following me, I could tell, but I was so close to the house and I couldn't let anything happen to Luce. I'd owe her that much. I felt a stake pierce my chest and it hurt like hell, but I had to keep going. I fell to my knees and Lucy landed five feet away from me. "Lucy! Lucy!" I screamed.
