Disclaimer: I own nothing but the idea

If their friends hadn't been away at that convention this would never have happened. They would have known that she never would have done this. They wouldn't have… but they were away at that convention when it happened. The planted evidence against her… well it was too strong. He knew it was planted but the jury didn't and she was sentenced to complete confinement in the home she shared with him for a full year.

Normally this didn't bother her. She always told him that as long as she had him and as long as she and him had love there was nothing they couldn't go through. One day though he was able to tell she was kind of bummed out.

"I'm fine," she told him not convincingly.

"Yeah and I'm not afraid of germs," he came back, "I know fine and this isn't it"

She laughed a little bit.

"I know this is tough for you. I wish I could trade places with you."

"Adrian I'm fine… trust me…"

That was when he noticed the calendar with the annual Christmas Party circled.

"So Monk," Leland said, "I guess I'll see you at the Christmas Party"

"Yeah about that," Monk said, "Would you mind if we had the party at my place this year"

"No that's fine," Leland said, "why though"

Monk looked at him like you really don't know? and Leland nodded in understanding.

"How's she holding up?"

Monk chuckled

"Ironically," he said, "better then I am. I know she's been set up and it's pissing me off that she's going through this"

"I know," Leland replied, "and I'm sorry I was at that convention"

"I swear," Monk said, "I am so mad at whoever set her up"

Later that day Adrian and Trudy were watching a video when he suddenly handed her a new dress.

"Put this on," he told her.

"Oh honey," she smiled, "that's really sweet-"

"Put it on," he said again.

She went in the room to change and he set up for the party.

"Adrian," she laughed, "What's this?"

"Just a little something I set up," he said

Just then the doorbell rang.

"Looks like the first guests have arrived," he said, "I knew that you'd be bummed out about missing the party and I sure as hell wasn't about to let that happen"

She squealed and jumped into his arms knowing that she wouldn't be able to do that soon.

After almost all the guest had gone home and there was just Leland and his family left Leland pointed out that she didn't give Adrian his gift yet.

"What'd you get him," he asked, "come on we're all friends here"

She smiled and popped in a videotape. A strange picture came up on the screen of something looking like an alien.

"Adrian," she said, "You see that thing here that looks like an alien," she paused, "That's your future daughter… our future daughter"
