A/N: I hope to make this story pretty long, I am mad to start another story when I have loads to continue, but what can I say? I get bored easily! Don't fret though, I will be continuing my other stories too!

Disclaimer: I do not own Buffy the vampire slayer.

Prologue to a hopefully long story: Willow's Love

Buffy was on patrol, she was thinking about Willow, about how since Tara had died, she hadn't been the same. She hadn't been happy and now she had really gone over the edge. Buffy had discovered Willow in bed at 3pm on Sunday, crying and crying. She hadn't done anything else since, and today was Thursday. Buffy was trying to come up with some ideas as to how to make Willow feel better.

'Perhaps I could take her to the movies.' Buffy thought, 'Nah, been done before. Maybe we could throw her a party. No, she'd just end up crying again. Argh this is useless.' her thoughts were cut off by a demon attempting to attack her, she shoved a stake into his heart and the beast burst into a million pieces of dust before completely disappearing.

Buffy had finished patrolling by 1am and began to walk back home. She was still thinking about what she could do to help Willow. When she got home at 1:30 she left her coat on the chair and walked into the living room, turning on the lamp she jumped when she saw a dark figure sitting on the sofa.

"Sorry Buffy" Willow said, "didn't mean to scare ya" 'Wow' Buffy thought, 'this is the most interaction we've had in like a week.'

"It's OK Will," Buffy said, "what are you doing still up?"

"I was watching cartoons but they stopped about 3 hours ago. I just felt like sleeping here tonight, but I can't sleep, so it's a bit pointless I suppose" Willow said, her head looking down and her knees where her hands lay.

"OK." Buffy muttered, "what cartoons were on?" she tried to change the subject and lighten the mood a bit.

"Tom and Jerry," Willow's voice piped, a bit like it used to, "then Top Cat."

"Cool, well I killed 3 demons tonight and managed to avoid Spike." Buffy smiled.

"So a successful night for you too?" Willow asked, with a slight laugh. That made her jump, 'A laugh? I haven't laughed since, well a long time.'

"Yeah." Buffy laughed with her. "Will, how are you feeling?"

"Better, I have rested and it's made me feel a bit better." Willow smiled up at her best friend, glad she'd chosen to sleep downstairs that night.

"I could go and get a sleeping bag and sleep down here with you?" Buffy suggested, trying to make the most of her best friend's happiness.

"OK, sure, not getting much sleep tonight anyway so why not?" Willow did another laugh and decided she liked the sound of it and that she should make an effort to be a lot less miserable from now on. 'Even if I don't have T-tar-her to make me happy, I still have Buffy, my best friend.'

"OK, I'll be like 5 minutes, tops!" Buffy smiled at Willow and went upstairs to get a sleeping bag. After having a quick shower and fetching her sleeping bag from under her bed, Buffy went back downstairs to see her red head best friend, alseep on the couch, with a smile on her face.
