A/N: I've discovered in my short time of writing poetry and stories, I go for the grim sort of morbid, depressing type of tales. This one is no different. It is what Aragorn might have thought if Legolas was ever to die. Here it goes...

:Peace Once More:

You lie here still, your hand clutching mine

All the color has drained from your face,

your hands cold as ice in winter

Your eyes, once as clear as water fog,

crystal tears now falling from the blue pools'

mimicking my own

I never knew it would be I to see you go,

I always thought you would see my end,

but that thought has proved wrong

You should not be the one dying!

You were gifted with immortality,

a life eternal with no pain of death

Yet, you accept it with no complaints or regrets

Your life is ending yet you hold on a minute longer'

the chance to say goodbye the one thing keeping you here

Your blood seeps through my hands,

staining my clothes with its color

Staining my soul with harsh realization

These moments together are our last

our last chance to say goodbye,

to be together as brothers once more

I love you I say, you nod your head

Weakly I'll miss you escapes your pale lips,

though you tried to hide your pain it shows

You look towards the sky

Your last vision of life

And you stop your eyes from seeing, releasing your grip

I kiss your forehead, drawing my hand over your eyes

You have finally been released from your pain

You are finally at rest

And though I cannot stop these tears I shed,

I know you are in peace once more
