Author's Notes: - Written as a response to the challenge issued at the Shield Fanfiction Archive to write a fic beginning "Death would be a mercy". This fic is a drabble and an episode tag for "Cupid and Psycho".
Why?
Death would be a mercy.
Anything would be better than this hell.
Bodies pushed up against him jostled him. Breath stinking of beer constantly assaulted his nostrils. He tried to breathe through his mouth, then nearly choked on the fumes.
He managed to look down at his watch. God, he'd only been held prisoner here for an hour, and who knew how much longer his ordeal would go on for.
The noise level escalated making him wince. The crowd roared, the machines roared.
Dutch looked at Shane's grinning face, and wondered why he'd said yes to the Monster Truck Rally.
