True Courage, Christ and Love

Disclaimer: I do not own anything you recognize, I just enjoy using these characters in unreal situations and spreading good news.

A/n: I wrote this after I met a truly amazing woman, and I pray that one day she will see it and know how much I truly admire her.

Hermione Granger straightened her dress and took a deep breath. She walked into the church with Ginny and Luna on either side of her, preceded by her six month belly. She was shocked by the warm welcome and genuine love she felt in the room.

A young girl, no more than fifteen, invited her to sit with her, not even glancing at her abdomen. Her name was Anna McCutchen and she became Hermione's friend in mere minutes. The girl made it clear that no matter what, as a member of the body of Christ she could, would and did accept the young mother to be. She stood, quoting a song by Casting Crowns, "Jesus paid much too high a price for us to pick and choose," and her defense silenced the stereotypical old ladies.

What shocked her more was seeing her baby's father on the front row. He worshipped freely, not noticing her eyes on him.

At the end, Luna led her to the pastor, who chuckled at her bare feet and hugged the young woman. But then, He was behind them, and most definitely saw her belly.

She slowed as he called out to her, her heart betraying her at the sound of his voice. He had left her after that night, and the things he said… But now, maybe Jesus had gotten hold of him to.

"Hermione, I am so sorry! I didn't realize…I had to be healed before I could really love you and I… I want you to know that I'll be here for you. I love you and I had to meet Jesus before I could be who you needed, who you deserve. And then," he broke into soft sobs, "the strength and courage you showed in walking into that room, I …" and he kissed her.

"Severus, I love you and I am glad that you found the savior, I know he's the only one who can heal the wounds, but I need to know this isn't just about the baby or a fever from your new found faith."

"Of course. I'm only asking for a chance." She nodded and they made arrangements for lunch the next day.

Six months later they were married, with Anna McCutchen standing beside Hermione as a bridesmaid. The old biddies had thrown the bridal shower last week and now sat in the front row.

At the reception, they danced to that old Casting Crowns song, Hermione with Severus and Anna holding the tiny Nicole.

They were truly happy and would forever speak of the true courage that brought them together at that little first Baptist church.

A/N: Hey guys! Thanks so much for reviewing! I really appreciate it and special thanks goes to Notwritten, because she always reviews and keeps my goofy smile on my face! I would like to dedicate the story to the girl I based Hermione on, but I cannot disclose any info about her or the baby. Kudos to anyone who can tell me the song! Thanks again!

All my love,

M

PS- I have something awesome brewing, but it has to wait until I come back from Governor's Honors, because they keep you super busy. Yay Aggies!
