You are poison.

You aren't sane, you know that. You know that the things you do are deceptively kind, unspeakably cruel.

The way you walk and smile and whisper.

You don't think before you act, don't wonder if what you're doing is actually going to help. You just strike out blindly, no matter the consequences. No one that stands in your way will come out unscathed.

You know you're poison.

They don't.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You are lonely.
There is no one that you call friend. No one you call lover.
You've had them before. Before you turned into this creature, this...thing. Before you became what you were destined to be.
Now you sit up high, watching the masses go about their lives, wishing you were down there. Wishing you were the little girl hugging her mother tightly. Or that man greeting his wife with a tender kiss.
You're lonely.
And they can't see that.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

You are in love.

It's a well-kept secret. One that you hold close to your heart, if such a creature exists.

You hide every encounter with him in the back of your mind. A little box filled with soft touches and kisses. Expletives and attacks. But all are precious, so you squirrel them away. Enshroud them in shadows until the wall around your emotions crack, and you can't help but pour over them.

You've been in love for thirteen years, and you'll be in love until the day you die.

You have no idea when that day will come, but you hope it will be at his hand.

You're in love.

And they will never know.

You are not the hero of the story.

Although that is what you've been cast as , but you still don't understand how.

All the lives lost, all the cities destroyed because of your carelessness. All of them taken care of by the one they view as a villain. The one that saves them from you every day. Creeping out of corners and shining brightly in a sea of darkness.

You are not the hero of the story.

He is.
