Me: WHEE!

May: Oh no, did she drink cactus juice AGAIN?

Drew: Nope. She's excited because it's her first "official" fanfic.

Me: Jumps up and down.

Drew: …..I'll do the disclaimer. SAGA DOESN'T OWN POKEMON OR ANY OF ITS CHARACTERS! ON WITH THE STORY!

Drowning For Drew

It started out as a simple trip to the beach with friends. May and her friends Ash, Misty, Kenny, and Dawn were at slateport beach. Ash was helping himself to some food on the shore, Dawn was attempting to flirt with Kenny (LOL) and Misty and May were swimming far off shore. All of a sudden, Misty let out an earsplitting shriek and grasped May's arm. Ahead of the two was an enormous wave that would seem insuperable to ride, even to the most daring of surfers. Misty swam for dear life from the towering wave, and just as May started after her, she was engulfed by the wave as it crashed down. The salty water enveloped her, stinging her eyes until she couldn't see anything. Her lungs burned, begging for air. Meanwhile, Misty stopped swimming and looked around, trying to find her friend. Suddenly she remembered how poor of a swimmer May was. She needed help FAST. So, Misty shot like a torpedo for the shore.
On the shore...
The lifeguard on duty(against his own will), Drew, sat boredly at the lifeguard station, assuming he had another dull day ahead of him. Suddenly, a girl about his age started running over. When she reached him, gasping for air, he asked what was wrong. "My friend and i got hit by a wave offshore. She didn't resurface and isn't a very good swimmer." Without another word, Drew ran in the direction the girl had pointed out. After swimming some yards from the shore. He saw an unconscious girl with brown hair in the water. She appeared to be his age. he grabbed the girl and began swimming(a very difficult task if you ask me) back to the beach. May herself felt dizzy, and lost all her senses just as Drew reached her. Finally, Drew managed to return with the girl. The girl's friend ran over and several other people gathered around. Drew performed CPR on her and listened for her heartbeat. She was still alive. Suddenly, the girl groaned and fluttered her eyes open. Her eyes were the most beautiful Drew had ever seen. They were an endless sapphire abyss that gleamed in the sun. "Wha-what happened?" She asked, turning to her friend. The people that had gathered around led her into the shade of an umbrella.
Later that day...
As drew was preparing to close the lifeguard station, he noticed someone sitting alone right on the shore. He recognized her as the girl who had almost drowned earlier. Her chestnut hair blew softly in the wind and she seemed totally content. Drew couldn't resist the urge and casually walked over and sat down next to her. She barely noticed him. She was totally absorbed in the sunset, as if it was the latest movie and she had to wait hours for a ticket. "May right?" Drew said to the girl. "Hmm?" May asked, seemingly noticing him for the first time. "Oh, yes, that's my name." "Drew." Drew simply replied, inching his hand closer to hers. She wordlessly took his in her own. Then, without a second thought, he leaned forward until their lips met. May savored the moment, never wanting it to end. Drew seemingly felt the same way as her. Then he slowly broke the kiss. May smiled at him, an enchanting smile. As he smiled back at her, he thought to himself "Maybe this summer job isn't so bad after all."
