Lilly had always been independent. With the death of her parents heavy on her shoulders, she only knew to run away from her life at the reservation. But when things cause her to return home, Lilly is thrown into a world of grief and confusion, and also into the arms of the man she least expected to help her through it all. M to play it safe.

1. Prologue

The beach had always been a place for me to escape from life. From all of the troubles of school, family drama, and the such. The sound of the massive waves crashing down onto the shore and surrounding rocks, the cool breeze that would never fail to send a soothing chill down my spine. The aroma of the salt water and fresh air swirling around me. It was the perfect place for me to escape, to just let my mind wander and put a smile on my face.
