Chapter 1
One night Rory is closing up the diner when Lucas walks in.
''hey you almost done?'' he asks her
''yea almost.'' she tells him and smiles sweetly at him
''would you like some coffee
''yea sure that would be good.'' he tells her
''okay.'' she says and pours him a cup
'thanks.'' he says and takes a sip
''you're welcome.'' she says
''so we going back to your house later?'' he asks her
''yea.'' she says
''is your mom going to be there?'' he asks her
''yea when she gets home from work later.'' she tells him
''so do you like working here?'' he asks her
''um yea I do it's not too bad it gives me a little extra cash to help my mom pay the bills.'' she tells him
''oh that's nice.'' he says
''you hungry you want a donut there's only 1 left?'' she asks and bribes him
''sounds good.'' he says
''okay.'' she says and gets it out of the case in a napkin and hands it to him
''thanks.'' he says
''welcome.'' she says
''so are you coming to the shoot out on Friday night when I knock my brother out and beat him finally?'' he asks her
''basketball right?'' she asks him
''um yea.'' he says
''I'll be there.'' she says
''great I'm looking forward to it.'' he tells her and smiles at her
Rory smiles back at him ''okay I am done.'' she says wiping down the spot on the counter in front of him
''good we going back to your house now?'' he asks her
''yup.'' she says
''okay come on.'' he says
''hold on let me lock up and turn out the lights first.'' she says on thier way out and locks up and hides the hidden key above the door and walks back to her house with him hand in hand
