It was a typical evening in the Potter family household. The other Marauders had left, the quiet of their absence settling peacefully on the small cottage in Godric's Hollow. James was watching Harry, while Lily was in the small kitchen, cleaning up after their guests. She was washing dishes the muggle way, as she often did to relieve stress. Suddenly, James burst in, hazel eyes glowing with pride behind the round spectacles she'd come to find handsome.

"Lily-flower!" He cried, spinning her around, soapy suds from her hands flying everywhere. "Lily, Harry's walking! Our amazing son has taken his first steps!"

Staring straight into his eyes, "Show me," was the only answer. With James's arm around her waist and Lily's around his shoulders, the young couple gazed fondly at their first son, thanking Merlin for having been given such a wonderful family.
