Author's note: Sequel to Love, Tears, Fund Raising. I haven't written
in a long time so it might be a little slow at first. This takes
place right were the pervious one ended. Feedback is good.

Leo sat across the table from Margaret. "You still love me?"

"That's what I said."

"Then, why did you leave?"

"I was scared Leo. I was scared of the past."

Leo began to get irritated. "Don't you think I know that? I was
there the night of the correspondence dinner. I helped you."

"I'm aware of that. The entire experience makes me afraid of getting
close…of making a commitment."

"I would never hurt you Margaret. Please, let me help you get back
what we had. Help us."

"We can try, Leo. Try" she was careful to put the emphasis on Try.

Leo extended his hand and placed it over hers. "Come back to work?"
Leo asked hopefully.

Margaret thought about it for a moment and then let go of Leo's hand
to get her iced tea. "What about Ginger?"

"She has a place in Toby's office and he has been bugging me. He
wants her back."

"If, I come back it wouldn't be for another two weeks I have to give
the Senator notice."

"That means yes." Leo said confidently.

Margaret nodded

"Okay let's finish lunch."
Leo and Margaret walked out of O'Malley's after lunch. Leo nodded to
his driver as he motioned to Margaret. The driver nodded in
understanding.

"You don't have to walk me to my car. If you have to go, go"

"I want to walk you to your car. The office can wait."

They walked a little ways down the parking lot until they reached
Margaret's car. She stopped and unlocked her door. Leo opened the
door for her "Thank You, for the information from the Senator." He
said.

"Not a problem." Margaret said getting into her car. Before she got
in Leo kissed her softly on the cheek.

"What was that for?" she asked.

"Because I love you." He answered as he closed the car door. "We'll
get through this."

"I know I'll call you later after I talk to the Senator." She said as
she started the car and pulled out of the parking space. Leo gave
her a smile and wave as she drove away. He walked back to the waiting
car.

"Thank you for wait, Larry." He said as he got into the car.

"No problem sir. The White House?"

"Yeah." Leo answered his driver. As they drove away he could help but
smile the plan was working.
