Love Me for Me or Not At All

Summary: Kagome Higurashi and her family are forced to move to the city. Although her new school is coed, she quickly discovers that she is one of only two girls that attend the otherwise all boy high school. Hilarity ensues, but will she ever find love?

Rating: PG-13 (possible bad language) plus situations.

Prologue: The School's Surprise

Seventeen year-old Kagome Higurashi was in a rush. Last year her grandfather had died and two weeks ago the shrine had burnt down whilst her family was gone on vacation. The police had labeled it as arson, but so far no one had been arrested. Until the investigation was over, they had moved to Tokyo to be closer to her Aunt Kumiko, her mom's older sister. Today was Kagome's first day at her new school and as per usual, she was completely unprepared.

"Kagome, hurry up or we'll be late!" Souta, Kagome's younger brother yelled up the stairs.

"Alright already, I'll be right down. I promise."

Moments later Kagome found what she had been searching for, her left shoe. Slipping it on, she raced down the stairs and into the kitchen. Grabbing a piece of toast and her bag she gave her mom a quick hug,

"Love you, see you later."

"Be careful and make sure Souta doesn't forget anything when you drop him off."

" Hai I will"

After dropping Souta off at school, Kagome made her way over to the high school. Looking down at her watch, Kagome sighed in relief, it was only 7:45 a.m. fifteen minutes until school started. She had plenty of time to grab her schedule and get to her first hour class before the bell rang. Upon entering the building Kagome headed to the office.

"Konnichiwa ohayou, how may I help you?"

"I just transferred in and I need to pick up my schedule."

"Your name please?"

"Kagome Higurashi"

"Ah, here it is. Here you go. By the way I should probably give you a heads up. Even though this school is coed, very few girls actually attend. Most all of the junior and high school girls in this area attend Madam Kyoko's Academy. The academy is a private, all inclusive, all girl prep school. Not counting you, there is only one other girl attending this high school.

The principal was quite happy when he received your transcripts; Sango has been begging him to find another girl willing to attend this high school, so she would have a buddy. The two of you have identical class schedules, so you don't get lost or bothered too badly."

Kagome was reeling from all of the information she'd just received. There was only one other girl besides her in a virtually all boys high school.

"How many boys are there attending this high school?"

"There are close to two hundred. Ah, here is Sango now. Kagome Higurashi this is Sango Taija, your official school buddy. Sango, she has the same schedule as you, so off to class before you're late."

"Hai Hiromi-san"

After dragging Kagome out of the office, Sango turned toward her and squealed as she gave her a huge hug.

"This is like, so cool! I'm no longer the only girl here! Do you know how long I've prayed for another girl to attend here? It feels like forever...well, enough with me chatting. We have P.E. first with Kioshi-san, so we'd better hurry to the gym so we can get changed."

Kagome sighed and allowed Sango to drag her down the hallway toward the gym.

'Could today possibly get any weirder or worse?' Kagome mused.

Little did she know that it could and would; all before first period ended.
