Kakashi's POV
I remember the day we first met…it was a warm summer day. And of course I'd keep my squad, Team seven, waiting for me.
"WHERE WERE YOU SENSEI?!?" Naruto shouted, "YOU'VE KEPT US WAITING FOR ONE HOUR! TSUNADE –SAMA IS WAITING FOR US!"
"Uhhh, sorry I was busy…um…meditating." I managed to stammer over his shouts.
"Sure." Sakura rolled her eyes.
"Whatever…" Naruto gave up bluntly.
"Hn…" Sasuke grunted. My excuses never seem to work…
We arrived in Tsunade's office, and surprisingly, she wasn't mad. Though, knowing me she probably half expected this.
"Hello Team Seven, today I shall assign you a B-ranked mission" She began without delay.
"B-ranked?!" Naruto stammered, "WOHOO! Arigatou, Tsunade-baa-chan!!"
"Don't call me that." She said flatly. He frowned.
"Any way…" she continued, "Today you four will be-"
She was interrupted by the door creaking open. Then…there she was, Tanaka Mei Ling, her face flustered as if she had run all the way around the village. Twice.
"S-sorry Tsunade-sama, I-I tried to get here faster but-" She took long, deep breath.
Inhale…
Exhale…she breathed in delicately, her chest rising a bit with each breath. But even then she still looked beautiful.
"But…" she continued, "I got caught up with Iruka-san. One student thought it would be funny to fill a balloon with black paint and let it 'accidentally' pop in class."
"Your point Mei Ling-san?" Tsunade asked with an arched brow.
Mei Ling, such a beautiful name it truly matched her: she had hair as brown and as rich looking as milk chocolate, pulled into a high ponytail. She had on a red tank top, with her stomach area and arms wrapped. Black shorts similar to Sakura's covered her skinny legs. and her headband was gently tucked underneath one side of her bangs.
Sheer beauty standing right in front of me…
I felt my face heat up as I watched her talk to the hokage.
"Hi," she greeted politely, her beautiful blue eyes piercing into my own- seemingly hypnotizing me. "Who are you four?"
My students introduced themselves one by one, then she turned toward me, "And you must be their sensei, what's your name?"
I opened my mouth to speak but what sounded like a small shriek escaped my mouth.
I tried again, "U-uh, me? Hatake Kakashi." I boldly stuck out my hand for her to shake. She did so: her hand was soft, yet I could sense strength in her.
As she nodded at me and finished her conversation with Tsunade, I noticed her headband wasn't from the leaf village but instead had the symbol for the Land of Waves. That didn't change my mind about her, for I couldn't care less about her origin at the moment.
So it's true…you can experience love at first sight.
Well I got to go, nice meeting you guys!" she exclaimed as she headed to the door, "Bye Kakashi, see you around the teachers' lounge." She said, followed by a snort from Tsunade.
Then she did the most beautiful thing ever, she faced all of us and smiled.
That's what it was that made me swoon when she talked…grinned when she walked…and melt when she would say my name.
