Redeemed-Chasen Eaglewood
The word 'redeem' has many definitions. Redeem is to keep a promise, to pay a debt, and to make something acceptable. Jesus Christ did all of this when he died for us. The Bible says God knows our sin, He knows we need a Redeemer. He promised to send us a Redeemer and that promise was fulfilled when Jesus died on the cross. We are all born with a sin nature. We all have sinned and have fallen short of the glory of God. The wages of sin is death. We all deserve hell. Hell is an eternity without hope or love, separated from God forever. Picture God a million miles away from here. Now picture yourself standing at the gates of hell. It looks like there's no hope. Finally, picture a cross in the middle of hell and God almost like a bridge. At last there is hope! The decision of whether or not to accept that help is your choice. The wages of sin is death (hell), but Jesus came long before you and already died in your place! Jesus is the Son of God, the Redeemer! He is completely perfect; without sin. He died for you so that you may cross over the bridge into heaven. He wants to spend an eternity with you. Jesus knows you sin, but died so you wouldn't have to spend eternity in misery. Jesus died on the cross and rose again by the power of God and He lives today! He paid the debt for you. All you need to do is cross the bridge. Repent of your sin and believe that Jesus is God's son and he came into the world to save everyone. Last of all, confess your faith in Jesus as your Lord and Savior; your Redeemer. He will change your life! The last description is 'to make something acceptable.' Jesus made you acceptable to cross the bridge into a wonderful eternity with Him! Become 'Redeemed,' it will change your life.
I hope the prologue introduced you to the most important decision you could ever make. Please enjoy my story of four teenagers who find out what it really means to become 'redeemed.'
