Lay It All On Me

Fandom- Silent Hill ; Features- Walter and Alessa

Atuhor's Nose: This doesn't have a setting, it's not in the least bit canon. Just a sort of AU thing about Walter and Alessa, because I love thinking of them as figurative brother and sister. Based off of "Sold My Soul" by The Used, my favorite song for Walter ever. Derp.

Alessa couldn't help but let hot tears flood her dark eyes. There, only a few inches away from her, was the battered and gruesome sight of her adoptive brother, half dead and smiling. He was on his knees, his hands loosely folded in a prayer position- whether he just didn't care for proper stance or his strength was failing, Alessa didn't know. The tips of his amber-colored hair were caked with blood and drying... in fact, his whole right side was. She could tell that his neck was at one time bleeding profusely, though at least half of his soaked collar was already dry. Alessa's hands moved to her mouth, stifling her light sobbing.

Walter still smiled, though he kept his head hung low, like one would at the sight of God. The grungy strands of his long bangs obscured his eyes, though he wouldn't dare look at the little girl in this state. In his mind, he wasn't allowed to.

"Look away. You shouldn't be here in the first place, sister." he said, quiet. Shameful.

"What... what did you do?" she said, ignoring his warning. Now was one of the few times she absolutely wouldn't listen to her brother's advice. Walter took in a shallow breath, as deep as he could muster in his dying state.

"...Please, I don't want to stain you..." he said, though Alessa only moved closer. He attempted to move away, though he could barely shift his shoulders, and his arms wouldn't move at all. Alessa extended a shaky hand to move her brother's hair out of his face, and though he vowed not to poison his sister with his death- no, his sins- he couldn't help but look at her once. Her brown eyes were hazy with wet tears, and her mouth was opened just enough for her to take fast, worried breaths through. His face was a mess of numbness, though through the pins and needles he could feel his lips twitch; his smile seemed brighter.

"...Alessa, you don't need to worry anymore," he began, once again casting his murky green eyes away. "I'm lost, but you'll be safe. I'm taking your pain with me." His breathing began to falter, and is whole body drooped further down. Alessa was now at his side, touching his shoulder.

"Please, please don't leave me." the girl said, not quite talking to Walter, but to whatever god or devil was listening. She didn't care who listened, all she knew was that she wanted her brother back.

Walter took another breath, and left his last comment, "Don't be afraid, sister. Give me your pain."

And with that, his body became lifeless, though Alessa was quick to hold onto him. She knelt by her brother, her slender arms wrapped around his shoulders and her face buried in his messy hair. No, she wouldn't let go until she had given him all of her tears, after all, brother always knows best.
