Hey loves! My name is Raven. This is my first ever fanfic, so please critic me as you see fit. This will the prologue so it wont be very long. I'm kinda nervous but
its ok, I'm gonna take my time and do my best. I don't wanna start by lying so I'm gonna honest and tell you that when it comes to updating...I am very spontaneous.
When the fingers get the twitchin' and brain starts tickin', that's when I start writin'. :) So here I go..
Prologue
"Ugh! Where is this guy! You'd think after being in the same quad for almost 6 years he would put in the effort to be on time for once!"
"Come on Sakura, I think at this point we should all agree that he will always be late"
She huffed irritably and rubbed her gloved hands together, trying to maintain heat. The beautiful village, once filled with sunshine and spring flowers...was now covered in several sheets of snow. She be damned if she caught a cold waiting for her oh-so- beloved sensei. Although, Naruto and Sai didn't seem affected by it at all. Both simply just stood there, clad in their winter attire, waiting.
Just waiting.
Sakura growled impatiently and began tapping her foot, occasionally crossing and uncrossing her arms. Both men glanced at her giving her amused looks. Naruto chuckled.
"Damn Sakura, you shouldn't have gotten here so early. Word of advice: when he says 'meet here at six' actually come there at eight"
Her head whipped around to glare at him as Sai snickered. "Since when did you become a wise ass?"
Before he could reply, he was interrupted be a puff of smoke. The kunoichi's eyes narrowed as she made out the lanky form. Kakashi gave his squad a half-hearted wave and his signature 'eye-smile'.
"Please excuse me for my tardiness", he began, " Someone needed my assista-"
"Sensei please", Sakura grounded out.
Naruto just snorted..
And Sai sighed.
Kakashi chuckled and put his hands in his pockets. "Ok, since everyone is here why don't we start walking to the hokage tower."
"We were supposed to be at the hokage tower an hour ago!" Sakura said, exasperated. And she was supposed to keep the boys in check, her shishou will not be proud.
"It's probably a mission" said Naruto, putting his arms in the back of his head. " I hope its one of those high-profile type of missions. We don't get a lot of those."
"I dont think so," spoke up Sai. " There are no hostilities between the neighboring countries, and any hostility has diminished since the War. Its probably a mission to transfer supplies."
Naruto shoulders sank. " If I cant get just one action packed mission," he threw his arms up dramatically. "I think I'm gonna explode, I can just feel it!"
" It doesn't matter Naruto, whatever the hokage assigns us we have to complete it, that's our duty" said Sakura unconvincingly.
Although Naruto did have a point, he wasn't the only one feeling deprived of a good fight. But ever since the war, it seemed like the world was on a stand still. For once, felt like peace was achieved. But peace for a shinobi can be unbearable at times. Peace meant no more heated missions, or the chance to test you capabilities or pass your limits. Sometimes she found herself growing restless, even Sai got antsy at times. She reached out to pat Narutos back, knowing how he felt. She hoped for the sake of everyone that this mission takes the edge off.
End.
I do not own Naruto.
