Sorry it's so short, but I liked the storyline. It's only a oneshot. Woot for first stories.
The sun was setting, and I needed to make a shelter, fast.
All around me, cliffs rose in craggy peaks. The fog obscured the very tops of the stone pillars, but I knew they had trees on top of them. Frosted grass crunched beneath my feet whenever I took a step, and I couldn't see the sky through the thick white mist that lay like a blanket over the world. In front of me, I could just make out a vast blue ocean. The sun was still up, I knew, but the light was slowly dimming and I knew I had a very short time to make a shelter.
I had limited resources. Earlier, I had collected enough wood from trees to make quite a few wood planks. I would use those for my home. Slowly, I began to build the walls against a cliff, and as I closed myself in with wood, the sky darkened and darkened. Night would fall soon.
Quickly. Quickly. I had to move quickly. I kept placing wood planks, and soon I had a rough set of walls. Rushing, I nailed together some planks for a door. I set the rough wooden door in the doorway to feel a little safer, and as I stood back inside my lean-to, I saw the last gleams of light disappearing from the horizon. I looked up.
"No! Dammit!" I had no roof. I needed a roof, before the monsters came. Faster! I reached up to place planks over my head. Faster! Come on! Go go go go!
But it was too late. A moan came from above me, and from the cliffs a figure dropped. The figure, dark and menacing, shuffled slowly toward me. I had no weapons. I had to run.
I opened the door, and shutting it behind me, I ran out of my home and into the water, trying to escape the zombies. Blindly through the dark I swam, aiming for shore across the lake. I felt my feet brush sand and gravel. Pulling myself up onto the sandy, chilly beach, I looked around.
Green creatures hobbled nearer and nearer, hissing with delight.
"No! No no no! Go away!" I yelled fruitlessly, trying to get away faster. They were closing in. Behind me was a lake, deep and dark and risky. All other directions were covered by the green monsters. I had nowhere to run. "No! No!" I screamed. "Go away!"
Too late.
Boom.
"Wh- No! No no no! Damn it all!"
"What happened?"
"Creeper mob! Dammit! I'd only been playing into the night for a couple minutes!"
"Bro, it's just Minecraft. A game. Get over it."
"Fine. Whatever. I'll just try again."
