Jack stood in front of the Globe in North's workshop alone with the other Guardians, watching as the lights slowly flickered away.
"What's happening?" Tooth whispered, her wings beating in a nervous rhythm. Baby Tooth zoomed behind Jack's shoulder. "The lights. . ." North whispered. "We have to find out what going on!" Bunnymund said as he took out his boomerang. Sandy made a shape on top of his head, Pitch's figure. "No it can't be him, Sandy," Jack said, a frown on his face as he stared at the little golden Guardian of dreams.
We just defeated Pitch a month ago, Jack thought. There's no way he can be back so quickly.
The Guardians were too busy staring at the Globe to notice Sandy making shapes above his head, trying to get their attention until he shook a poor elf that he finally did.
"Manny has chosen a new guardian!" North said as he rushed to the platform. Moonbeam flowed down to the platform and instead of showing them the new guardian, the Man in the Moon showed them 3 teenagers.
"3 new guardians?" Bunny asked confused as he looked at North. North shook his head. "What does this mean, Manny?" Everyone waited in silence as the Moon gave the silent message to North. "Oh my cookies," North mumbled, looking down.
"What? What happened North? What's going on?" Tooth asked as she fluttered in front of him.
"Pitch is back." North said. Silence filled the room as the guardians sucked in the news. "And he's stronger than before." North continued.
The moon had told North that two of the new guardians would be from the Sun and that they were supposed to help them save the world yet again from Pitch's evil dreams and fear.
He looked on to the platform where an armoured boy with a dragon stood side by side. Then the image changed, this time it was a girl with wild hair armed with a bow, aiming directly in between Jack's eyes. Then the image shifted one more time to reveal a slender girl with long, really long, hair holding a frying pan.
"We have to get them." North said. "Woah woah woah, mate," Bunny said, "Three new guardians? Who are they? The guardians of what? At least give us some details mate." North sighed. "Those guardians are going to help us defeat Pitch. Pitch has rallied the parents of the kids who believe in us, and has convinced them that we are bad for their kids. The parents of said kids have been forcing their children that we are no good and that we should not be believed in; that we're just myths and fairy tales.
"Those three guardians that you saw now are going to help. Two of them, the girls, are from the Lady of the Sun. She has sent them to help us." North put on his coat. "Now come! We shall get new guardians!" He turned and ran into the direction where his famous slay was and the other guardians had no choice but to follow. Jack looked to the platform once again and saw that the long haired teenager almost seemed to be smiling at him.
