An unknown base off the coast of Alaska…
X1 was annoyed. The final shipment of materials was two weeks late, the Cahill children survived the apocalypse, and Damian Vesper III was dead, along with the rest of the Vespers. Such a thorn in his side.
X1 was the leader of the most powerful organization ever existing, one that was larger, older, and deadlier than the Vespers. An organization that was at the center for virtually every event since the beginning of human civilization.
It was currently named Quantum.
Quantum. The seven letter word that was stuck in the databases for every intelligence agency in the world. Quantum. The world's most ruthless organization with the most dangerous assassins and terrorists alive. Quantum. The organization, whose sub-organization had been destroyed last month, all because of the Cahills.
Ever since the ancestor, Gideon Cahill, had discovered the secret to the master serum, the Cahills became an enemy of Quantum. Although they didn't know it, Quantum was pulling the strings on the Cahill's worst enemy, the Vespers.
X1 was, in fact, very knowledgeable about what the Cahills were up to. He knew their every move, for the ties of blood worked ever the more in his favor.
He smiled, and then walked into the control room of the Quantum base. He pressed a button, watching silently at the streak of light headed towards the Cahill's command center, in Attleboro, Massachusetts.
