The sun was sinking below the clouds, making them turn brilliant shades of red, pink, and orange. Far below the clouds was a small band of Rouges in a lush green forest. The two leaders, Crow and Pyra, were out hunting for the band.
In the meanwhile, a rather large black kit was making his way towards one of the Rouges, who had separated himself from the rest of the cats to think. 'Maybe I should go and try to find my kit… I'm sure she misses me…' Were his last thoughts before the kit struck.
Biting down hard on the tom's neck, the kit bit through to the jugular, an unhealable wound. 'Is t-that An-Anubis or S-Set?' The tom thought, before his eyes became dull and unseeing. The kit sat back, his icy blue eyes twinkling with pleasure. A sudden rustle was heard as another large black kit pushed his way through the brush. He gasped when he saw the dead tom. The vicious black kit purred dangerously.
"It seems you'll have to go too, Brother." With that, the kit rushed towards his brother, aiming to kill. The innocent kit leaped to the side, but the evil kit reached out and clawed his neck, then pushed him into the pool of blood that was forming. With wide eyes, the kit ran off, covered in blood.
The evil twin clawed himself, hissing in pain as his claws bit deep. He ran after his parent's scent.
The kit gasped as he reached his parents. "M-mother! Father! Anubis has-" His sentence cut off as he let out a loud sob. Crow bent down towards his son. "What did your brother do?" he asked calmly. Set sniffled, looking up at his father with teary eyes. "H-he killed o-one of the Rouges!"
Pyra's eyes widened. "And did he do that to you?" she asked, indicating the cuts all over him. Set nodded. "I got him too, but he got me worse…" Set began sobbing again, then hid behind his parents, blue eyes wide, as a familiar scent hit.
Anubis stepped out of the bushes, eyes wide in shock, covered in blood. Crow and Pyra both growled at their blood soaked son. With an infuriated roar, Crow lunged at him. Anubis squeaked and began running away from his father. Set watched him run away in amusement, an evil grin stretching across his face.
"You are Fallen! You are no son of mine!" Crow yowled after the fleeing figure, fury obvious in his posture as he gave up the chase. Anubis fled, crying.
