Sonnet- To Alatariel
A/n: This is a sonnet dedicated to the Elvish lady who is my idol, my inspiration, and the manifestation of my every aspiration. (Hoo! That was polysyllabic, Lotesse!)
What net, what web has this enchantress used
To capture the unearthly radiance
Of Telperion and Laurelin fused?
Her laugh rings sweeter than a river's dance.
The pure sheen of starfire, of moon and sun
Gleams bright in her carcanet of golden hair,
In her rippling tresses, second to none,
In the circles of the world most fair.
She shines like a jewel set in dark green
As among the tapestried trees she sings
Of the myriad beauties she has seen
As the moonglow flashes upon her ring.
This lady, seeing with a deeper sight,
Is the embodiment of all things bright.
