A/N: This is a very short one-shot that's been sitting around for awhile and that I couldn't figure out how to make into a longer fic. Reviews and constructive criticism much appreciated.

Sweet Support

Lily smiled at James as Florean Fortesque put two ice cream cones down in front of them.
"I love how there's support at the bottom of ice cream cones," she said.
James looked at her funny. "Come again?"
Lily smiled. "At the bottom of ice cream cones. There are a few bars of slightly stronger ice cream cone-material holding the bottom inch or so together so it doesn't collapse when you're eating it."
"And?"
"And it shows that even the sweetest things in life need support. That even the sugariest things can crumble. But then there's that support at the bottom holding everything together."
James chuckled softly. "You have entirely too much time on your hands."
Lily smiled sheepishly. "I know."
They both finished their ice cream in silence.
When they were once again walking down Diagon Alley, James finally spoke. "Lily?"
"Hmm?"
He leaned down to whisper in her ear. "You're the support at the bottom of my ice cream cone of life."
Lily smiled. "That was incredibly cheesy," she whispered back. But she kissed him anyway.
