1st Draft

A gentle wind blew through the empty house. The figure of a boy was kneeling by the destroyed fireplace. "It ends where it began" he whispered. Another figure, a girl with bright red hair, stepped out of the ruin of the old house. She walked towards the boy, now standing, and put her hand on his shoulder. "But why did he die?" she asked him softly. He turned and looked at her, his green eyes full of thought. "Well," he said slowly, "I think it's got something to do with what Dumbledore told me. The one thing I have that he never did, love." And with that, the boy pulled the girl towards himself and kissed her passionately. After a moment she pulled away. "I told you I'd be fine." She tapped his nose lovingly. "I love you, Ginny" he said. "I love you too, Harry" she replied. The two walked cautiously out of the old Potter house to face the dawning of a new day.

This is the 1st draft of my conclusions of the Harry Potter series. It was originally for a newspaper competition, so it had a word limit and everything. I didn't end up being one of the 7 winners, but that's ok. I like my ending. And I want to show everyone my 'thought process' or so to speak. So review and tell me what you think!
