Who? You Know Who!

A conversation between two unidentified firsties as reported to have been overheard by several older students who were studying in the Library at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The one first year has obviously been told by his parents that Voldemort's name was still not to be spoken of even though he had been dead for many years.

"You know why Harry Potter was called the-boy-who-lived?

"No. It does seem like a strange nickname."

"He defeated you know who."

"You know who? Who is that?"

"You know-- the most evil wizard known since Grindelwald."

"Who's Grindelwald?"

"The fellow Dumbledore defeated back in 1945."

"That's waaay before my time-- yours too."

"I know, but that's history."

"Never heard of either of them."

"Of course you have, you take classes with Mr. Binns don't you?"

"Yeah but you know he don't teach anything past something he calls the goblin wars."

"You do have a copy of Hogwart's a History... don't you?

"Yeah, of course I do. It was on the list."

"Didn't you read it?"

"Not yet!"

"I suppose you never heard of The order of the phoenix either."

"What did the Phoenix order?"

"Nothing. It was a group of witches and wizards who fought against You-know-Who and his Death Eaters."

"Really? certainly sounds like a weird way to get a meal to me.?Why would anybody eat something called death? Was it a main meal or a dessert?"

"No! They weren't fighting for meals, they were followers of You know who."

"Okay they were followers, but I still don't know of who!"

"Look, have you not heard the name that his followers called him... the Dark Lord?"

"Dark Lord... Did he get a rather severe sunburn or sumthin?"

"No, he did not get a sunburn... He was a ruthless psychopath."

"Cycle path? Isn't that sumthin to do with muggles?"

"Well yes, but I wasn't referring to them, I said psycho...path, It means somebody who is anti-social."

"I don't know any Auntie Social... Is she a muggleborn?"

"No! She... I meant he-who-cannot-be named..."

"Who can not be named?"

"You know who."

"I don't know who!"
