Shall We Dance?
It was 9 o'clock on a cold winter's night. The chairman thought that the entire student body (the Night class included) should come together for a ball. 'Could this night get any worse?' Zero thought to himself as he awaited the arrival of his co-guardian, Yuuki. After all, she was the one who had made him dress up in this stupid outfit and come to this ball. She had dressed him up in a red tuxedo with a black undershirt. His pants were the same color as his tux.
"Zero, I am so glad that I found you! It has taken me almost the entire time of the ball to find you!" a voice exclaimed from behind him. Zero quickly turned around and saw that it was Yuuki.
"You're late….as usual." He explained as he returned to his leaning position against the pillar in front of the Grand Hall. Yuuki looked at him, crossing her arms in aggravation.
"Well sorry! It's not like I can get ready in less than three seconds like you! Why do you always have to be so pushy?" Yuuki yelled. Zero laughed and grabbed Yuuki's Hand. Once the duo was inside the Grand Hall, Yuuki's friend Yuri bounded over to them. The group found some empty chairs by the snack table and sat down. Yuri, who had been talking the whole time that Zero and Yuuki had been there, sat beside Zero flirting with him.
"You know Zero; I think it would be pretty awesome if you and I dated. I mean come on! You are the most popular and handsome guy in the entire school and me, I am the second best looking girl. What do you think?" Yuri asked him seriously. Zero looked at Yuuki and stood up.
"Yuuki shall we dance?" Zero asked. Yuuki's face lit up with happiness. Her eyes met his and a red blush covered both faces.
"Yes. Thanks Zero." She took his outstretched hand. He led her out into the middle of the dance floor. The music made them sway from side to side; in no time they were moving gracefully around the Grand Hall. "Yuri really seems to like you." Yuuki said after a while of dancing. Zero rolled his eyes making Yuuki laugh. He loved it when she laughed. To him it was softer and sweeter than any bell.
"I don't have any of those feelings for her you know. Yuuki, I…….I love you. Please be my girl?" Zero finished quickly. The music stopped and the two friends bowed to one another.
"I thought that you would never ask me!" Yuuki shyly replied.
"Thank you Yuuki! I promise you that I won't let anything come between us. Even if it means that I give you my life." He declared. The brown eyed girl placed a finger upon his lips to hush him. Standing on her tip-toes she kissed him. This kiss was different from any of the other kisses that the students at Cross Academy gave. Love for this couple was definitely forever and not a short time.
None of this would have happened if Zero hadn't got up the courage to ask Yuuki those few simple words: "Shall We Dance?"
