AN: July CBPC. One of Zach's "firsts" traumatizes him and shapes who he is today. Too bad he couldn't use his oversized head to get outta this one.

1. Spin

This was torture. His hands were clenched at his sides and his breathing was increasingly becoming short and choppy. Adrenaline raced through his veins and his heart pounded a million miles an hour. That is physically impossible, and you would be dead by now if that was hypothetically true. Zach shook the thought away. It didn't matter how fast his heart was beating, all that mattered was why it was prepared to jump out of his chest. All eyes stared at him. He couldn't even believe he had allowed himself to be drawn into this foolish notion. But he did. And now his own livelihood depended on how he would react in the next minute.

Eyes were boring into him, hungrily awaiting for Zach to make his move. He thought out his options quickly. I can't run away. I do not have the physical ability to escape these power-hungry monsters. Swallowing hard, he turned to his brain for the answer. You could make yourself sick. But they'd kill you tomorrow. It be the end of your life…wait, when has caring about what other people think about you have mattered? He answered himself nanoseconds later, practically screaming in his thoughts, It's because your physical wellbeing depends on it! Zach firmly decided he would make himself ill and throw-up. But then Zach realized vomit made him queasy. No way he'd be able to stick his finger in the back of his throat to escape this hell. Okay… you could deny this, try to twist the facts.

"I think it's wrong," Zach muttered.

Big John Guires thought wrong. "It ain't wrong, don' try weaslin' ya way outta this, Addy. It's ya time, now. Ya don' do this, and ya sorry ass is mine. We's all had to do this, ya ain't no exception."

Zach swallowed. Okay. Not good…think, Zach, think!

He couldn't. He had to face his fate. His hands starting to tremble, he leaned forward and closed his eyes.

He puckered his lips and planted a kiss, his first kiss on the school beauty, cheerleading and student council member, Mindy Charlevoix.

Seconds passed. Silence enveloped him. He opened his eyes to find the ring of kids snorting at him. His cheeks flushed with embarrassment as Mindy grimaced and wiped her lips, accusing, "Omigod, did you just spit on me? Or do you have an over-excessive saliva problem? Gro-oss!"

Zach gulped and forced out an apology. "Sorry…"

Big John smacked Zach upside the head and snickered, "Zach, ya'll never be good with the ladies."

"Okay," Zach murmured, face burning.

Mindy rolled her eyes and said, "Aside from that being the nastiest thing in my life, I'd hate to find out who your first girlfriend will be. Now will someone else spin the bottle?"

And the bottle was spun.

And once more it landed on Zach. A series of groans followed.

I will never, ever, be good around girls.
