Hazel Mckenna

Chapter One

Hello my name is Hazel Mckenna. I live in the ruins of a city.
My whole family lives here with me and my friend Zebadiah and her family too. My friend and I are always getting are self's into trouble.

We usually a have a water balloon fight around this time of year but this year while we were planning it all out a huge thunderstorm hit. Its been here for a week here and it hasn't stopped. Which is really weird because we barely ever get thunderstorms.

Its been two week now and the storm has finally stopped. We all walk outside to see the damage but instead we see this guy standing in the street. His hair and beard were black and he had sky blue eyes. He looked to be in his early 30's. He saw us come out. The guy walked over to us and says"I am Zeus god of the sky and i have come here to get Hazel and bring her back home."

I looked at him and said "What are you talking about my home is here in this city with my friends and family."

He replied saying "No your a demigod and your home is Camp Half-blood. You are one of the most powerful demigods ever."

"How do i know you're not making this up? It seems pretty weird. How do I know your not some creep who is trying to take me away from my family."

"You can trust me I promise." He was really starting to creep me out.

"I need to take you home the storm that was here was caused by you"

"How? That's impossible."

"You're special. You're a demigod."

"How I don't even know what a demigod is?'

"Being a demigod means that you're half-human and half-god. You have dyslexia and ADHD, right?"

"Yeah but what does that have to do with any of this?"

" You have dyslexia because your brain is hard wired for ancient greece not english. You're ADHD is your battle reflexes."

"This is crazy and besides I won't go anywhere without Zebadiah."

"Hey don't pull me into this that dude freaks me out, Hazel." Zebadiah said back to me.

Zeus faced Zebadiah and said "Zebadiah, You don't have to hide your secret anymore. She would have seen you at camp anyway."

"I know. Sorry, it's a habit to say that around her." Zebadiah turned towards me and said " I am a demigod, Hazel, I am so sorry i couldn't tell you i made a promise i wouldn't till you were ready. I was only trying to protect you."

"Thats ok I forgive you. I have one question. Whats it like to be a demigod." I said to Zebadiah.

"Its amazing at some points and sometimes it can get you killed in horrible and nasty ways."

Zues said "But you do know that your experience will be different because you are way more powerful than any other demigod in the world."

"Ok but I have a question for you Zeus. Who's my dad?"

He looked me straight in the eye and said "You'll have to find that out on your on."

"What the hell, why can't you tell me"

"I can't because the Fates won't let anyone tell you who your father is because you have to figure it out on your own."

"Thats stupid, But ok i will go to this stupid camp because I want to find out who my dad is."

"Follow me." Zeus led us over to a black shiny car that i hadn't noticed before. He opened the door for us and we climbed into the backseat. The seats were black leather and the car had that new car smell. Zeus got in the drivers seat and turned on the car. Then he went speeding away from our family. I just had enough time to wave good-bye to them and little did i know that i wouldn't see them for a really long time.
