Meeting Namine

Why am I so weak? I can never help Sora. In ANYTHING. I'm a pretty good fighter, but just not enough for Sora. I need to train. I need to become stronger. But how? And what about Riku? He used to help me when I needed it. He was always there for me. Now what happened to him? I don't even know.

I was at the beach sitting on a log with the shade of a palm tree. This was where me, Sora, and Riku used to sit when we were little kids. But that was long ago. Now the world's becoming filled with darkness. And I can't do anything about it. I'm just lying here while the world, Sora, and Riku are at stake.

"Why!? Why am I so weak!? Why can't I help save the world!? WHY!? WHY!? WHY!?" I screamed out loud at the setting sun, clearly frustrated.

"Why…why…why…?" I whispered. Just then a portal of pink streaked white opened up right in front of me, covering the setting sun so that it became darker.

"Wha-" I stammered. A girl appeared behind the portal like she just walked behind it on the other side. She looked straight at me and then put her hand through.

"What the heck?" I said, as the hand slid through the portal. I really wasn't expecting that. Then she stuck out her left leg, her right, and then she was fully in. From her side of the portal, to mine. I stared at her in shock for a couple of seconds and then looked at the portal that had snapped shut, but it was still dark. The sun had set and a cool breeze had lifted.

"Kairi." The strange girl said looking at me with a smile on her face. She looked completely human, but she still freaked me out. She had a nice tan face, medium, straight, blonde hair, she was the same exact height as me, and she had a flowing white dress on, going down a little bit after her knees.

"Who are you…you look like someone I know…" I said the second part in a whisper to myself, but she heard anyways."
"I know exactly who I look like. But you'll have to find out yourself."
"Um…ok. But why are you here? And that portal?" I threw questions at her.

"I'll tell you everything later, but the important thing is that I'm here and I'm going to help you train to become strong enough to fight side by side, in battle, with Sora and Riku. Would you like that, Kairi?"

I stared at her, mouth open. "Y-ye-yes! I would love to."

"Good. Let's get you packed up for where we are going for your training. Lead us to your house." She said with a grin.

"Yah, c'mon, I live right down there by the beach." I said and pointed behind me.

We started walking and I asked her a question, "Can I ask you one thing?"

"Sure." She said looking straight forward.

"What's your name? You already know mine…somehow…so it's best if I know yours. Right?"

"Yes, sure I can tell you. My name is Namine." She said without hesitating.

"Okay, Namine, where are you going to take me and how am I going to become stronger?"
"Time will tell, Kairi. Just lead me to your home and I'll explain everything when your journey starts." She said, still looking up ahead.

"Okay." I said, and left it at that. My stomach was filled with butterflies and I knew something big was about to happen. But I was ready for it. As long as I could fight alongside Sora and Riku at the end.
