Title : A Favour
Summary : Snape can never refuse Dumbledore.

Severus,
I realize that this is another letter that you will probably use as fuel for you cauldron fire but I feel that I must make an attempt, futile though it might be, to reach out to you. Please Severus, do this for me. Consider it an old man's last wish. It is the only way to save you and Harry.
Albus

Severus Snape cursed fluently under his breath. He ran his potion stained fingers angrily through his greasy hair as he read the latest letter that Dumbledore had sent him. Why bring up Potter the annoying brat?

Snape sighed, "It is too much, Albus. This …favor… that you ask of me. I cannot do it," He then slowly admitted to himself, "No, I will not do it. How could I? It is unreasonable to ask this of me. I will refuse!" But his complaints echoed eerily around an empty dungeon room. Snape barely restrained the urge to roll his eyes. He was talking to himself, a sure sign of insanity. He returned to grinding rose petals with a mortar and pestle. Of course he would do it.

He had never quite managed to say no to Dumbledore.
