The Psychology of Motomiya Daisuke.

Ok, so this isn't really a fanfic, but I'm not a columnist, and I couldn't think of any better
place to bring this, so here we go. Yes, I love Takeru, he is after all, my favorite Digimon character.
However, Daisuke I also like (even though I don't like a lot of 02 characters, in spite of the fact I'm
presently writing an 02 fic). At first, I liked humor fics that would flame Dai-chan, but I saw, later on,
that it gets out of hand, biased, un-funny and down right cruel.
He's being called a poor leader, but leading an important group, especially at an age where
boys are only begining to be more mature, where, as an adolecent, you're still trying to learn, is extre-
mely difficult. It's alway hard at the begining, but Daisuke is showing signs of improvement. He is the
first to willingly forgive Ken, and although everyone said that he wasn't thinking it through, he still had a
point. You can't aproach a person who was once an enemy at all unless you forgive them first. Plus,
we dont' know if Daisuke hadn't considered caution. But people only see him as an irrisponsible and
mindless jock who's all guts and no brains. While Daisuke is reckless, he just doesn't have the life
experiences and strong points that would make a perfect leader.
But, we are all mortal, so we are never perfect. And even if there ever is something perfect,
nature puts an end to it, for nothing must be perfect and last.
The Digidestined also don't listen to Dai-chan, and if a leader isn't heard, then he or she
cannot lead. If they listen to him more then put their ideas on top, more for self credit (sorry Teke-chan,
but this includes the 02 you -.-...what happened to my little Teke-chan?) than advise, then he can't learn
to lead. And the 01 Digidestined can't alway be there to help or give advise, so there is a lack of
example.
Which brings me to the history of the 01 Digidestined. Daisuke has a lot of traits that of
Taichi and Yamato. The most signifigant to this topic is that he is reckless an doesn't think things through
well, like Taichi, and has a tendancy to be a little too self-reliant, like Yamato. They had to take time to
get over these traits in order to be better Digidestined and be better commanders, and still aren't
completly over them. All Daisuke needs is some more time and experience.
Haven't you ever felt this way? Where you had to be leader, but felt like a failure, or that
you weren't paided attention to when you were in charge? This is how I see myself, how about you?
