Prologue
'Elizabeth'
I did no reply. I couldn't.
'Elizabeth' he called again.
My eyes remained closed, hoping that if I ignored him he would leave me to rest.
'Elizabeth' His voice began to rise. My eyes opened slightly, and he glared into them affectionately.
Frightening dreams of Lucky learning the truth about the baby wracked my brain.
'I'm off to work; do you want to go out to lunch this afternoon?'
It was my turn to talk, but I couldn't bring myself to, so I nodded yes and buried my head into the familiar warmth of my pillow.
I heard a small chuckle from a distance and murmurs of noon.
I closed my eyes tight until I heard the door shut behind my husband. Than the tears came.

Please tell me if you like it. I haven't written in a while and have a bad tendency of not finishing stories, but if you guys like it I'll try my hardest because I think I have a good idea for this. I know it's short but it's the prologue.
