In "Haystack", the ME told Elliot to rest and he said he would. Not-even-a-drabble.

I Will

She said, "Go home. Get some sleep."

There was silence for a beat too long before he forced a smile with as much gratitude as he could find.

And he said, "I will."

Because he couldn't tell her, "I can't."

A/N: This doesn't even deserve to be called a drabble. Normally, I would never post something so horrendously short, but I just saw the episode and I swear that line was haunting me. Then I finally wrote this down and my notebook followed me! Always flipped to this. So I gave in and here it is. Please spare me (my readers and the plunnies). I promise I'll post something more substantial right away just to make up for this.

PS. Anybody know a good exorcist?
