Disclaimer: I own nothing.
Author's note: I'm a fan of dystopian stories like whoa. Thus, Pandora and the universe it created was a huge hit with me. So when the bare bones of this story came to me, I had to write it down. I might do connected drabbles set in this universe or I might just do a short story. I haven't thought that far yet. Can you tell that I'm not fond of writing serials at all?
The beginning of this tale is awfully similar to Pandora except for some changes. I wanted to write a Pandora AU where Lois and Clark parted ways in an early season and they meet again as adults in the Pandora-verse.
Constructive criticism is always welcome.
Rating: Teen for now. May go up to Mature later on.
Summary: Lois Lane sees Clark Kent again for the first time in years. Pandora AU.
There is a plan set in place.
Or at least there was until Lois is snatched from the holding cell without warning. She doesn't struggle. In another lifetime, she might've fought back but the last time she'd struggled, she'd earned herself a black eye and a ringing in the ears that still refused to go away. All of it inevitably led to a grilling session.
This time though, is different.
Her typical interrogators are missing and when she is dragged to the inner chambers of the former Luthor mansion, she finds herself curiously not alone. There is a man with his back to her. He's dressed shabbily and shackled. A fellow prisoner.
She is tempted to call out to him but out of the corner of her eye, Lois sees the most glorious sight she's seen in ages. There's fruit piled on a table and her mouth waters instantly. How long has it been since she's had a proper meal? How many days, weeks, months, has it been since the invaders took over her home?
She takes tentative steps towards the decadent feast and her stomach growls in response. The echo throughout the cavernous room is embarrassingly loud but Lois doesn't care. There is movement from the only other figure in the room and suddenly without warning, she is faced with a specter from her past.
Lois is taken aback in more ways than one. "Smallville?"
