It was after midnight when Josh Harter (better known to the world as Chris Sabin) managed to get out of the air port and home after a recent stint on the road doing house shows on the west coast. Four years ago it wouldn't have bothered him being on the road all week, but now he had a family at home and knowing his wife and kids were at home waiting for him to come home.

Trying to be as quite as possible as he entered the home he shared with his family just outside of Detroit. Setting his bags on the floor and kicking off his shoes he let out a heavy sigh. Running his hands through his light brown locks he glanced into the living room and saw two figures huddled on the couch. One was his now nine year old step-daughter, Zoe, who he loved like his own since he had begun a relationship with her mother four and half years ago. She had shoulder length blonde curls, pulled back into a pony tail and was wearing pink and black Tinker Bell pjs.

The second figure was his little man, his almost three year old son Jax. There was no doubt in his mind that Jax is his son. They had the same messy light brown hair as well as his bright blue eyes and impish grin. Josh grinned seeing his two kids had tried to wait up for him. It was summer so the fact Zoe had stayed up late on a Wednesday night didn't bother him in the slightest.

Walking into the living room he bent down and kissed Zoe's forehead. "Hey… Zoe…" Josh started softly trying to rouse the young girl. Zoe shifted and looked up at the man she had come to consider her father and smiled brightly. Throwing her arms around her 'father' she hugged him tightly. "Mom asleep?" Josh asked kneeling down next to the couch.

"Yeah… I think so she went upstairs like an hour ago." Josh nodded and stood up and picked up his sleeping son who just glanced up at his daddy and smiled.

"Daddy.." The little boy cooed softly still half asleep. Josh kissed his son's cheek and looked down at Zoe and motioned for her to go up stairs.

"Bed… both of you." Josh said trying not to sound too much like his father. Zoe just nodded and gave him another hug before running up the stairs. Josh looked down at his son and smiled. "I missed you guys… but you didn't have to wait up for me little man." He kissed his son again and started to carry him up the stairs.

Josh's wife of a year and half, Alexis stood at the top of the stairs with a big smile on her face. "Hey baby…" She said smiling brightly and reached out to take their son. The little boy went to his mother with little protest and Josh leaned down and kissed his wife placing his hand on her him.

"I missed you Lex.." Josh said softly to her before she turned to take her toddler into his room and put him back into bed.

With the kids safely tucked in Josh and Alexis locked the bedroom door and greeted each other properly.

Who would have thought after going through everything they went through during the early years of their relationship that Josh and Alexis would have stuck together. Worked things out and made the best of their lives together. The one thing that clearer with every passing day is that Alexis made the best choice… the right choice for her and Zoe.
