Day of Death
I remember the last words you spoke,
The last look you gave,
The final breath you took.
The day you departed from this world.
I remember it all so well.
I remember the way you saved my life,
Protected me with your selfless act,
Jumping to my defense,
Taking the bullet meant for me in your chest.
I remember it all so well.
But what I remember most,
Is the argument that we had moments before,
The harsh words we traded,
Over meaningless things,
That is what I will always remember.
The horrible way I treated you on this day of death.
And now if I could take it all back,
Rewind this day,
From finish to start,
All I can say I that I would have told you,
Everything I feel for you deep within my heart.
Now I live each day in regret
Replaying each moment that we spent together,
Hoping that you'll come back,
And I can tell you everything,
I never had the courage to before this day-
This day of Death!
