[Title]: Straight to Sensei's Heart
[Word Count]: 589 (not including AN)
[SPOILERS AHEAD!]
[Author's Note]: My first Assassination Classroom fanfic, written for a prompt by one of my friends to use the sentence:"I hope we meet again on the other side, so that we can study and fix our mistakes together," with the scene of Koro-sensei's passing. I hope I didn't do that bad-reviews are appreciated.
"Please...let me do it..."
Shiota Nagisa didn't think that it would be so hard to kill their crazy teacher. After all, the billion-dollar bounty that had been flying over their heads for a year was so close, within their reach. He just had to...push...the...dagger...down...
The tears that had stubbornly refused to come before were now starting to trail down his cheeks, landing on the fancy physical ed uniforms Karasuma-sensei had so kindly given and staining the already dark grey fabric to an even darker shade.
No matter how hard he tried, there was a force in Nagisa's hands, a force that wouldn't allow the dagger to move more than an inch closer to Koro-sensei's heart. The memories the E Class of Kunugigaoka had gained from their times with their unkillable Koro-sensei were far more precious than any sum of money could ever be. Nagisa wanted those memories to trail on forever, to stop only when their entire class was gone.
And as much as Nagisa wanted it to be real, that would never happen. Koro-sensei's only choices now were to be killed by the E Class he loved, or be painfully exterminated by the government's Anti-Sensei Laser. The E Class would never let their sensei go without their final words, and so, had snuck into the cage their poor teacher was being kept in to put him to rest their way.
Nagisa slammed his eyelids shut, and brought the dagger up in a stormy rage and forced it down. The boy was screaming at the top of his lungs, but was stopped by the familiar touch of his teacher's tentacle against his neck, slowing his pulse and calming his nerves.
"Don't kill me like that," Koro-sensei's quiet, soft voice reached his tentative ears. "Place all your feelings into one blade, and act like when you're killing me, you're transferring all those feelings right to my heart."
Nagisa lurched forward, shutting his eyes once again with a sob as the hands wrapped around the green rubber dagger shook with each heaving cry. More memories floated through his mind's eyes. Kayano's giant pudding, their victory over the A Class, Itona's timely arrival, the second Reaper from only minutes before, and Koro-sensei's words as he spoke to his student.
"I hope we meet again on the other side, so that we can study and fix our mistakes together."
Nagisa's eyes flew open, and he smiled. Not the devilish smirk he'd given Takaoka, or those fake ones he put up around that boy from the island club. This one was a soft, loving, caring smile that spoke volumes of grief, but at the same time looked to innocent.
"Koro-sensei..." Nagisa whispered, leveling his dagger and forcing his hands to stop shaking. "...goodbye."
"Goodbye, Nagisa," their crazy, yellow smiley-faced, tentacled-octopus-like teacher replied, a breath leaving his chest as his face relaxed into a softer smile.
And with that, Shiota Nagisa pushed the blade down and delivered his, and the entire E-Class's, feelings right to the heart of the sensei that they loved.
...
Koro-sensei, we'll meet on the other side, and once we do, we'll all study together, the E-Class, Aguri, and your assassin student. We'll fix all our mistakes together, and don't you forget that.
We promise we'll see you again.
