Chapter 1: Herald
The Spider-Team looked over the wheezing form hunched over on the warehouse floor.
"Pietro Maxinoff, I presume?" Gwen snarked upon examining the intruder.
"Gwen Stacy? No it can't be you. You're dead as a doornail. I should know I saw it myself when-"
"Quicksilver, save your breath. What's going on around here?" Peter asked.
"Spider-Man? Oh, I'm happy to see you because I'm from the future where the Sentinels made a comeback and most of the heroes are dead-"
"What's the plan, speedy?" Gwen interrupted.
"Get to the Xavier School. It's the only way you can do this-"
"We'll go."
LATER:
"What's the big idea bangin' on the door at three in the mornin'?" Rogue muttered as she arose from her slumber to answer the door.
Upon it opening, Quicksilver and the Spider-Team poured in.
"Pietro, ah always told ya that runnin' that fast would make ya a geezer in no time flat."
"Very funny, Rogue. You haven't changed since the old days and if you were wondering I've aged normally because I'm from the future and you really ought to get used to this sort of thing-"
"Whadda want from me?"
"Is Kitty here?"
"Yeah."
"Good tell her we need her to use her powers to send us about twenty years in the future-"
"Who's us?" Mary Jane piped up.
"You, me, Peter, Gwen, Jubilee, and Cap-"
"Let's just get this over with."
