*I'm not figuring into this story of when and why Sirius got his animagus form. My thinking is that he learned to do it from a very young age to escape his parents. Also, in this story Remus is a dog not a werewolf.
The full moon was bright as Sirius shifted into his animagus form and set out on his nightly walk.
He was tired of sitting in that house day after day listening to his parents bicker at him. Regulus was never there to back him up, so he always ended up in trouble.
At the age of 7, Sirius just wanted some time to himself. After hearing his parents bicker all day long he needed a way to escape. Thus, he had learned how to create an animagus form from a book in the library.
Now, night after night he would take a walk to a nearby park where he would spend a few hours playing before heading home.
However, tonight would be different. Sirius could sense it.
Upon reaching the park, Sirius headed to his favorite spot; a tree near the edge of the water. He would run around it a few times, chasing any squirrels that got in his way before heading over to the water and the bridge that went over it.
After chasing a squirrel that had been in search of some nuts for the winter, Sirius bounded over to the water.
Wait! What was that smell? He would know if he had smelled it before. Raising his head Sirius looked all around before spotting the source of the smell standing on the bridge. It was another dog.
This dog looked to be about his age. However, instead of being black like Sirius he was a tan color. Sirius was startled when the dog let out a small bark.
"Hi! I'm Remus," the dog said.
"Sirius," he said as began cautiously approaching the other dog.
"Wanna play?" asked Remus.
Without another thought Sirius bounded over to the other dog, and that is when he was able to see the other dog's eyes.
It was love at first sight, or in this case puppy love. Sirius knew in that instant this is what he had been looking for tonight. Remus would be the one thing that changed his life. Now he just had to get to know him.
Author's Note: Short, sweet, and to the point. No, this story is not going to be continued. It was an idea that came to me one day, and I've finally finished the thought process. Hope you enjoyed it. This was my first, Sirius/Remus. Ciao, CAatH!
