Letters from Father

(Hey guys! I'm not a complete newbie at this, but I just wanted to say I've been writing rather unprofessionally all my life, and now I want to write to my fullest ability. I think I have a really interesting fanfiction idea and I hope I can pull it off because I don't think I have enough father-daughter moments through the letters planned out yet. I'll be back with Chapter Two next week or so. It will be a superbly smashing, bamf of a series.

Bye~!)

Chapter 1: The Nameless-Letter Man

XXX

Naruto looked up to the sky upon the bench swing to the orphanage on a dreary autumnal day. It was grey and overcast—it was almost saddening. She had not received a letter from from her personal postal carrier Saturday morning. Be that as it may, she still hoped for a letter today because it was unlikely, but still probable that the nameless-letter man would find some way to direct a letter to her. But no such act was procuring.

She had also figured out from his letters that he was her biological father… but now the bond was fading fast and Naruto was afraid no letter would come back at all. When she would get the letter, she would always see either Kotetsu or Izumo enough to the point where they handed Naruto the letter. However, that wasn't true now that it had been a whole month since the last letter came and the only time Naruto could hand off a letter was when they came. They were supposed to come every day after that if she didn't have a quick reply.

"Oi! Naruto."

It was a familiar voice… it was Kotetsu's! Naruto got up from the swing and ran to him like she was a little girl again. "Kotetsu-san!"

"Yeah, yeah, are you going to take the letter?"

"Yeah, of course!"

She slowly opened the letter as she stared down at it with a hopeful, warm feeling inside and a smile. "Could you come back tomorrow, Kotetsu-san? I'll write my reply tonight." she said, looking back up to him.

Naruto looked disappointed as she opened and read the contents. She had read the letter and all it had said was,

"Dear Naruto,

I wish you a happy 16th birthday, darling. I hope in two years we'll meet.

With lots of love,

Your Father."

Naruto ran inside and started to cry… she thought her father would keep his promise and come back for her on her 16th birthday, like it had been on her 7th, 10th, 12th, and 14th birthdays. But something always got in the way. However, she thought there was something to the other letter he sent just one month ago that bothered her. Did her father actually say he was going to come for her? Naruto ran into her room and splayed out on the tiny twin-long bed that was her only thing that she desired right now, feeling so angry at her father for sending such confusing letters. She knew that someone was going to take her away, him saying, 'I feel like taking you away from here, and wanting you to eventually meet your brother.' every time he wished her a happy birthday.

Naruto then played around with a feeling that was different. The emotion was not of being wronged—it was of wronging her father. Despite her claims to refuse it, the feeling kept bubbling up within her stomach all the way into her chest. She bore the notion that her selfishness to the situation he was in, whatever it may be, was a tough one for him as well.

Naruto slowly got up started to reply to him over at her study desk…
