SPIDER-MAN: Requiem
Spider-Man and related characters are property of Marvel. This is set in the same universe as "Partners in Crime".
The scene before Peter Parker was a grisly tableau. Lying on the floor of the warehouse was Gwen Stacy, her own blood pooling around her. Through her chest was a long knife, and looming above the body was a tall, lanky figure with a robot arm.
"Too late, insect. She bled like a pig."
A loose light swung over the killer, and Peter got a close view of him.
"No. You're not supposed to-"
"Exist? They all say that about the Winter Soldier."
The brainwashed super-soldier walked over and fondled Peter's chin with the cold steel of his left hand.
"She died in agony. And you couldn't do anything about it, Spider-Man." he gloated.
A colossal haymaker sent the Winter Soldier flying across the room.
"You want to try that again, tin man?"
The Soldier grabbed his knife from Gwen's chest and bull-rushed Peter with it, thrusting it into his side. The latter winced as his healing factor kicked in before flipping out his stingers and ramming them into his opponent's chest.
"Your venom cannot harm me, Spider-Man."
A flying kick hit the Winter Soldier's groin with no effect.
"How the-"
"You block out the pain, Parker."
Before Peter could react, he felt the Winter Soldier plunge several inches of sharpened steel into his chest before all went black…
Peter shot out of bed, sweat flowing down his body in rivulets.
