Albus looked at Elize to his rigth. She was crying; wet drops of water were pouring down her face. To his left, Scorpius was holding a crying Rose, trying to comfort her.
Albus sighed. This was it. The end. Knowing that he would probably die in a few minutes, he let his mind wander to his friends.
Rose. The brillant know-it-all that had a horrible temper. Albus winced and smiled as he remebered recieveing the wrong end of it. She wasa great friend; caring and kind. She could tell when Albus was lying to her, and she always seemed to know what was going on.
Scorpius. He always acted liked he was fine. But he had a rough life. Growing up a the heir of a family that's worth spit in most people's minds in hard. But he was a great friend, always there for you and couldn't stand to see you cry.
Elize. She's had it the worst. She always think it's her fault, even if she has nothing to do with it. She was against being friends at first, but they had grown on her in the end. Of course, now he saw why she was so against making friends. Scorpius's life was gold compared to hers.
Then there was Albus himself. He always considered himself a good friend, even if all the trouble they got into was his fault. He knew he'd never leave them, not for nothing.
Albus's thoughts drifted back to the times they had together. Despite himself, he smiled. Even if the face of death, he would smile as long as he had his friends.
Because even when you're about to die, when you're sad, mad, or about to cry, it's good to have someone that will stand by you.
