Hello, my first story… Hope you like it

It was five years ago it happened.

You can live a whole lifetime in five years.

You can die in five years.

The wizarding world was still shaking from Voldemorts aftershock.

Harry made his way up to the castle. His feet were walking towards all the memories.

The last battle.

The death.

He was already there.

Everything looked the same. It was almost empty in the corridors; he did only see two students rushing past him. They had school bags thrown over their shoulders and they were giggling as mad. He wished he could also be as free as them. Voices and laughers came from the Great Hall, so it was probably time for dinner now. It was around 7 p.m

He had promised Ginny to be back at eleven.

He hadn't seen Hogwarts for five years. After the battle, he'd help to make the castle look the same again. Many statues were broken and the wall had been blasted off on some places. He did not see it now, but he knew that on the fourth floor there were photos. A whole wall was dedicated to all those people who lost their life fighting against the Dark Lord.

But photos couldn't help broken hearts.

He walked right to the seventh floor and took the corner in high speed and stopped abruptly in front of the tapestry of Barnabas the Barmy. He walked by it, turned, walked, turned, walked, turned. His steps became longer and his breath started to come out in pained huffs.

But at last, the door grew visible. He carefully opened the door, as if there were some dangerous creatures inside.

But, Hogwarts had after all been the home for Fluffy, Aragog and a Basilisk, so he perhaps made a good choice to be careful.

The room was small. A big mirror was standing in the middle of the room. It looked like a very expensive mirror, with an ornate gold frame. On the top, it stood:

Erised stra ehru oyt ube cafru oyt on wohsi

He took a step closer and almost stumbled onto the mirror. He looked expectant, but at the same time, frightened. Suddenly people were standing inside the mirror. He couldn't help it. He swirled around, just to see if there was anyone behind him.

No one was there

He was alone

Just like the first time, he reached out his hands to touch the mirrors surface and whispered:

"Mum? Dad?"

And they were there, smiling and waving at him. He saw the unruly black hair on his father, that hair no comb could ever tame, and his mother's green eyes, just the same as his. He saw his grandfather's knobbly knees, and his grandmother's nose. He saw all those people reflect in himself.

He didn't know how long he had been there. It could have been minutes. It could have been hours. He looked into the mirror with longing, yearning for the life he never had, and never could get.

But he had Ginny.

As that thought entered his mind, the mirror's surface became foggy.

"No" he mouthed, unable to speak. He didn't want to let his family go. Not yet.

But Ginny was his family too.

The mirror was clear now. It was almost the same view as before. But not exactly.

Three children were also there. Two boys, one girl. Both of the boys had black hair, but the taller of those two had brown eyes, while the smaller had green. The girl's hair was flaming red and she also had brown eyes.

The taller boy's nose was exactly like Ginny's.

The girl had his shape of her face.

He smiled bigger than he had for years.

Hi's family.

He could move on.

Harry left the room of Requirement after a short time, with hope in his steps.

Hi again. Please review. Thank you for reading it. I'm very pleased

Love,

K
