"What are you looking at Wolfram?"

Big emerald eyes stared at the man that had spoken, taking in the mop of wavy golden blonde hair, green eyes that are just a shade different from his own and the kind smile. It was none other than his father Manfred von Bielefeld.

Wolfram pouted and scrunched up his eyebrows as he pointed his small chubby finger outside the window. "Who is he?"

Manfred looked outside and saw Cecilie von Spitzweg, his wife and the 26th maou, Conrart Weller, his step-son, and a man with light brown hair.

It seems as if wolfram was inquiring on who was with his mother and brother was. "His name is Dan Hiri Weller, Wolfram. He's Conrart's father."

Little Wolfram's face scrunched up more n confusion. "But aren't you his father dad?"

Okay, now this is awkward. Sighing Manfred picked his son up knowing that this will not be an easy discussion. "In a sense I may be considered as that Wolfram, but I'm really his father. Dan Hiri is real parent." Seeing the confusion still in his son's face made Manfred chuckle slightly. "You'll get it when you're older wolfram."

"But dad, isn't the man with him human?"

The older man looked deeply into his son's emerald eyes for a second before looking once again with sad eyes at the trio outside. "Yes son, he's human."

Wolfram now turned to look at Dan Hiri with tear filled eyes. "Then I hate him! I hate them both!"

Shocked, Manfred quickly turned to look at Wolfram once more. "Why do you say that wolfram! They are both good men! And Conrart is your koonichan!"

"B-because..." looking down at the floor Wolfram sniffed "They'll both leave me after a while...all humans do..."

"Oh Wolfram..." Setting the boy down and crouching Manfred gently caressed his cheeks to wipe the tears away. "Humans do have short lives, but that should be make us treasure the brief time we have with them. You should make every moment special so that when they're gone you'll have no regrets and a lot of wonderful memories to remember them by."

Wolfram sniffed. "Really...?"

"That's right." Manfred smiled. "Come one cub, dry your tears. Let's make the best of it starting today, okay?"

Wiping his tears away the smaller mazoku gave the older man a small yet determined smile. "Okay dad."

That day and after that, the walls of Blood Pledge castle were filled with laughter and joy. Echoes of 'koonichan!' were usually heard. And engraved in a small boy were the thoughts of treasuring the few decades or centuries they had together.
